Honorary Director of the journal Actas Dermosifiliográficas, Editor of the Journal Frontiers of Human Skin Photobiology, and member of the Editorial Board of Dermatologic Therapy, Photochemical and Photobiological Science, and the Journal of Clinical Medicine. Honorary Member of the Portuguese Society; she received an American Academy of Dermatology’s Presidential Citation of International Dermatology in 2024.

She has received more than 10 awards including 4 by AEDV and 4 by the European Society of Photodynamic therapy. She has 287 publications in Pubmed, 33 H-Index and authored one book; she was an editor for more than 5 books and 25 chapters.

Dr. Sergio Vano Galvan is a dermatologist and hair surgeon expert in hair research, director of the Hair Disorders Unit of the Ramón y Cajal University Hospital and the Hair Disorders and Hair Transplant Unit of Pedro Jaén Group Clinic, in Madrid. He holds a PhD in Medicine and is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at the University of Alcalá. He is the Secretary General of the Spanish Society of Dermatology (AEDV).

Former President of the Spanish Hair Research Society (2019-2023), Dr. Vano Galvan leads an active research group in the study of different forms of alopecia (#TricoHRC). Dr. Vano Galvan has published more than 325 scientific articles in Pubmed (h-index of 33) and is a regular guest speaker in international congresses on hair research.

Secretary General of the European Hair Research Society and member of the American Hair Research Society. Director of the International Master’s Degree in Hair Disorders and Hair Transplantation at the University of Alcalá.
